In 2018, Ben asked to learn how to bake a chocolate sponge cake. It began as a simple activity at home, but soon became an opportunity to practise coordination, sequencing, responsibility and perseverance.
With repeated practice and encouragement, Ben gradually developed confidence in the kitchen. He learned to prepare ingredients, follow recipes, complete each task and clean his workspace independently.
What began as baking together grew into something much greater—a pathway towards independence.
